<대통령 자원 봉사상 >

콜로라도 지역 한국학교에서 자원봉사를 하고 있는 9명의 학생들이 대통령 자원 봉사자상을 받았습니다. 이 가운데, 우리학교 졸업생인 김연진 학생과 백하영 학생이 포함됐는데요, 대통령 자원 봉사자상을 받은 학생들은 한국학교에서 250시간 이상의 자원봉사를 한 것이 인정되어 이 상을 받게 됐습니다.

우리 학교에서 상을 받은 두 학생은, 저학년 학교 수업에 참여해, 아이들에게 책을 읽어주기도 하고, 직접 북버디 동아리 '반딧불'을 창설해 영어권 학생들과 미취학 아이들, 저학년 아이들에게 동화책을 재밌게 읽어주는 활동을 하기도 했습니다.

Nine students volunteering at a Korean school in Colorado received the Presidential Volunteer Award.

Among them were Kim Yeonjin and Baek Hayoung, graduates of our school, who received the Presidential Volunteer Award for more than 250 hours of volunteer work at Korean school.

The two students, who received the award from our school, participated in the lower grade class, read books to the children, and created their own book buddy club "Firefly" to read fairy tales to English-speaking, preschoolers, and lower grade children. They also volunteered to be a helper for various events held by the school.

제 9,10회 NAKS(The National Association for Korean Schools) 백범일지 독후감 대회에서 권채린(무궁화4반/담임 영옥 리치) 학생이 '우리 마음의 작은 씨앗들'이라는 독후감을 출품해, 1등 상인 백범상을 받았습니다.

시카고 교육원이 주최하고, NAKS가 주관한 제 1회 코리안 스펠링 비 대회에서 문영서(대나무1반/담임 최지수) 학생이 1등을 차지했습니다.

NAKS(The National Association for Korean Schools/재미한국학교협의회)는 미주에 있는 1,000여 주말 한국학교의 연합체로, 미국의 전 지역을 지역별로 나누어 전국 협의회 산하 49개 주에서 14개의 지역협의회를 두고 있습니다.

제 2회 서재필 박사 창작품 공모전에서 김나라(무궁화2반/담임 김문정) 학생과 송지후(무궁화2반/담임 김문정) 학생이 4등 상인 '서재필 계몽상'을 수상했습니다.

졸업생들의 수상 소식도 이어졌습니다. 2021 민주평통 통일 골든벨에서 졸업생 정주원(소나무반/담임 이나라) 학생과 정주현(2020 졸업생) 학생이 뛰어난 실력을 자랑하며 1등을 차지해, 콜로라도 대표로 전국 대회에 출전했습니다. 또, 민주평통 청소년 평화통일 그림 공모전에서도 정주원 학생이 1등에, 정주현 학생이 2등에 자리하며 수상 소식을 전했습니다.

긴 여름 방학 중에도 한국어 학습의 끈을 놓치않고 열심이었던 모든 학생들, 수고하셨습니다.

At the 9th and 10th NAKS Baekbeom Diary Book Review Contest, Kwon Chaerin (Mugunghwa Class 4/ homeroom teacher Youngok Rich) submitted a book report titled "Small Seeds of Our Heart" and won the first prize, Baekbeom Award.

Moon Youngseo (Danamoo Class 1/ homeroom teacher Choi Jisoo) won the first prize at the first Korean Spelling Bee competition hosted by the Chicago Institute of Education and organized by the NAKS.

The National Association for Korean Schools (NAKS) is an association of more than 1,000 weekend Korean schools in the United States, with 14 regional councils in 49 states under the National Council.

At the 2nd Dr. Seo Jae-pil Creation Contest, Kim Nara (Mugunghwa Class 2/Homeroom Teacher Kim Moonjung) and Song Jihoo (Mugunghwa Class 2/Homeroom Teacher Kim Moonjung) won the 4th prize.

News of the graduates' awards followed. At the 2021 Democratic Parallel Unification Golden Bell, graduates Chung Joowon (Sonamoo Class/Homeroom Teacher Lee Nara) and Chung Juhyun (2020 graduate) took first place with outstanding skills, participating in the national competition as Colorado representatives. In addition, Chung Joowon won the first prize and Chung Joohyun won the second prize at the Democratic Parallel Youth Peace and Unification Picture Contest.
