Eric Ervin
Eric Ervin is a native of Littleton, Colorado, and serves as Vice President of the Board. He works in the IT Department for the City of Littleton. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Colorado State University and a degree in photography from Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs. Eric and his wife, Shawna, have two children adopted from Korea. Their daughter, Grace, recently graduated from KAOC. She and their son, Andrew, are in high school.

Brett Myers
Partner, Lee, Myers & O'Connell, LLP

Brett has been involved with KAOC for the past 25 years - first, as a student and, from the establishment of the non-profit board, as a director. He has served in a variety of roles on the board and volunteered in a number capacities at the school. He continued studying the Korean language at immersion programs in Daegu. He is currently learning Sino-Korean characters. Professionally, Brett practices law and has taught American Law in Korea. His two daughters attended KAOC and volunteered at the school alongside their parents after they completed the program. He considers the school a central part of the Colorado community and one of the keys to having raised his children with a multicultural perspective, healthy friendships, and the importance of volunteer work. As the Kpop Demon Hunters would say, KOAC is "goin' up up up. It's our moment... gonna be gonna be golden."

Jihye Lee
Principal, Korean Academy of Colorado
As the Principal of the Korean Academy of Colorado (KAOC), Jihye Lee brings a unique perspective shaped by her roles as both an educator and a dedicated parent. Her deep connection to the KAOC mission is rooted in her firsthand experience; she has seen her eldest child graduate from KAOC while her two younger children are currently enrolled. This dual vantage point allows her to lead with a profound understanding of the school's impact on students and the needs of its families. Beyond her commitment to education, Jihye is a highly skilled healthcare professional with a decade of clinical experience. She earned her undergraduate degree from Keimyung University in South Korea before specializing in Gerontology at Case Western Reserve University, where she served as a Nurse Practitioner or nurse. While she is currently focusing on her family, she remains passionate about leveraging her professional insights and her dedication to Korean heritage to support the Board of Directors.

David Chanwook Chung

As the father of two KAOC graduated students David Chung is a strong believer and supporter of the mission of the school to help students learn, discover, and experience the Korean language and its culture. David has a passion for connecting Coloradans to all the rich asian culture that exists in Colorado. David has been a member of the board of the Dragon Boat Festival as well as being involved with various AAPI organizations at University of Colorado, at work and in the community. David has been in Colorado for over 10 years and has two children in college now.

Jin Tae Kim

Jin Tae Kim recently joined the Board of the Korean Academy of Colorado (KAOC). Jin is a native of Irvine, California, who called Houston, Texas home for 11 years, before relocating to Colorado. He works as a Radiologist. His introduction to KAOC was through his family. His daughter attended KAOC for 3 years and enjoyed the friends and teachers she met there. His wife, Jiyun, currently works for KAOC as a teacher. During free times, he enjoys watching movies, walking the family schnoodle Georgie, and exploring Denver.

Benn Kuemmerlin

Benn was born in South Korea and moved to Colorado, United States, when he was in middle school. This is Benn’s first year serving as a board member of KAOC. He currently teaches high school math in the Cherry Creek School District. Benn’s wife, Hyesuk, teaches at KAOC, and they have one daughter, Grace, who attends KAOC. Benn holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Master of Education in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. As both an educator and a parent, Benn values being actively involved in the KAOC community.
